Synopsis

In 1930, Captain Russel Marsh, a respected sea captain, had his life forever altered when he encountered something beyond comprehension—he “saw the light.” But this light was no ordinary vision. It was the manifestation of a Great Old One, an ancient and malevolent being tied to the occult forces of the deep. From that moment, Russel’s body was no longer his own. For the next 93 years, he became a vessel for this entity, a pawn in the hands of the Esoteric Order of Dagon, a secretive cult devoted to bringing about the will of these unfathomable gods.

Under the influence of the Great Old One, Russel committed unspeakable acts, atrocities that left a stain on the world and shattered his humanity. As a puppet of the Order, he was forced to further their dark agenda, one that sought to awaken ancient powers that could bring about the end of humankind. His life, once defined by honor and duty at sea, became a twisted nightmare of rituals, sacrifices, and horrors that transcended mortal understanding.

But in the present day, something shifts. After nearly a century, Russel is freed from the hold of the Great Old One. No longer controlled, he is burdened with the full weight of the atrocities he committed while under the cult’s influence. The memories of the past haunt him, driving him to seek redemption. Russel knows the only way to make amends for the horrors he unleashed is to go back in time and prevent these acts from ever occurring. He is desperate to find a way to reverse the damage, to undo the dark legacy he has unwillingly helped create.

However, Russel’s quest for redemption is not without danger. The Esoteric Order of Dagon, still very much active, views him as a threat to their plans. They believe that his newfound freedom could disrupt the ritualistic progress they’ve made toward summoning the Great Old Ones back into the world. Determined to stop him at all costs, the cult sends its most dangerous agents to hunt him down. Armed with forbidden knowledge and dark powers, they pursue Russel across continents, determined to destroy him before he can unravel their centuries-old machinations.

As Russel embarks on his perilous journey, he is forced to confront not only the relentless forces of the cult but also the deeper mysteries of time and fate. He seeks allies among scholars, occult experts, and others who have encountered the supernatural. But trust is hard to come by when he himself has been an agent of terror for so long. Time is running out, and every step he takes toward finding a way to turn back the clock is fraught with danger.

In the final battle, Russel must face the horrifying truth about the Great Old One that once controlled him, the true nature of the Esoteric Order of Dagon, and his own role in the cosmic chess game between humanity and these ancient gods. Will he find the key to redemption, or will the cult succeed in ensuring that the horrors he committed will never be undone?

In this harrowing tale of cosmic horror, redemption, and timeless evil, Russel Marsh’s fight against the forces that once controlled him is a race against time, fate, and the dark will of the ancient gods.
