Me, Myself & Irene

Rhode Island State Trooper Charlie Baileygates suffers from a severe case of dissociative identity disorder, also known as multiple personality disorder. His condition causes him to shift between two vastly different personalities: one that is aggressive, unpredictable, and often volatile, and another that is kind-hearted, calm, and easygoing.

When Charlie accidentally loses his medication, which helps him manage his condition, his personalities begin to take control in unpredictable ways. As his world starts to unravel, Charlie becomes romantically entangled with Irene, a woman he meets during a challenging period in his life. Both of Charlie’s personalities—each completely unaware of the other’s feelings—fall deeply in love with Irene.

The situation becomes increasingly complicated as Charlie’s two personas, each with their own approach to relationships and life, try to win Irene’s heart. The aggressive side, prone to outbursts and reckless behavior, clashes with the more relaxed and affectionate side, creating a chaotic dynamic that Irene finds herself drawn to yet terrified by.

As Charlie struggles to regain control of his life and reconcile his conflicting personalities, he must also navigate the emotional turbulence caused by his love for Irene and the tension between the two sides of himself. The more he falls for her, the more his fractured mind and emotions threaten to tear everything apart. What started as a simple love story soon turns into a complex and unpredictable journey, as Charlie battles with his own identity and his need to be loved by Irene—who, despite the chaos, finds herself torn between the two sides of the man she’s come to care for.

In this emotionally charged and at times humorous story, Charlie’s struggle with his mental health becomes a backdrop for a unique love triangle, one that questions the nature of identity, love, and acceptance.
